CXC has proven experience partnering with the education sector to manage their contingent workforce and reduce costs. In Australia, we have partnered with institutions such as the University of New South Wales, University of Western Australia and Melbourne University. Globally, we partner with RELX, Reed Business Information and Golden Voice English Online.

Through this portfolio we have developed a deep understanding of the rapidly changing landscape and contingent workforce challenges that our educational industry clients face.

Here, we’ve highlighted examples of how we’ve improved outcomes for some of these clients, including mitigating risk, reducing contingent worker and supplier spend while improving the governance of contingent workers and adding value to their overall experience.

An integrated, automated technology solution for UNSW

The Situation

“On an annual basis, UNSW requires the services for approximately 100 IT contractors across the university. It was important that we partnered with a provider that had the people, processes and technology necessary to support our contractors and the valuable work they do for the university.”

Marcus Clark, Head of Talent Acquisition, UNSW

CXC's Solution

“Using intelligent journeys and automatic notifications, all UNSW contractors receive welcome emails and SMSs, ensuring they have all the necessary information prior to starting work. The Talent Team and hiring community have complete visibility of contractor end dates, and access a simple online form to extend or disengage a worker.”

Marcus Clark, Head of Talent Acquisition, UNSW

The Results

“The automation from their system, combined with the personal interaction from account managers, has dramatically increased the efficiency of our onboarding process, while ensuring our contractors feel valued. Currently, CXC are supporting us with a system integration solution for our applicant tracking solution, streamlining the process from recruitment to offer.”

Providing UNSW with access to proven contractor talent

The Situation

With the ongoing pandemic, border shutdowns and resignations, many clients are facing a significant talent shortage. Project roles in particular have been highly contested in the market. UNSW also sought additional talent channels to meet the needs of their organisation. In particular, they required the capability and experience of proven contractors that can be sourced to fill niche roles.

CXC's Solution

CXC provided UNSW with access to a new talent sourcing channel through our Workforce Exchange (WEX) solution. WEX is a talent pool of contingent workers who have finished assignments with our other clients – including workers from our other educational clients. When UNSW has a talent need, CXC provides suitable resumes from our talent community of over 15,000 profiles.

The Results

CXC has provided an additional sourcing channel for UNSW through our WEX platform This solution increased hiring speed and reduced onboarding time by providing proven talent to support ongoing project work. Below, we’ve provided a testimonial from Rahman Qazi, a Senior Business Analyst now placed at UNSW.

“I was recently successful in obtaining a new contract role as a Senior Business Analyst via CXC’s Workforce Exchange (WEX) platform. This was a very easy process as I have already previously onboarded with CXC and I am really excited about my new opportunity in a new industry starting this month. The technology platform was easy to use and The CXC team did a great job in matching my skills to the new opportunity”.

Compliant payroll of global staff for the University of Western Australia

The Situation

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is one of Australia’s leading universities. The university needed to engage global workers in countries where they did not have legal entities, to hire them compliantly while considering local legislations. These workers were servicing clients in countries such as Brazil, India, Malaysia and Singapore.

CXC's Solution

CXC implemented an employed contingent solution in these four countries and correctly onboarded the workers. We provided thought leadership on how best to employ a contingent talent base, as well as ongoing legislative updates on changing laws and employment requirements. In Brazil, we payrolled UWA’s Marketing Manager Americas, who was based in Curitiba, Brazil and covered the entire region.

The Results

The partnership with CXC enabled the University of Western Australia to service their clients in their countries of origin with ongoing compliant solutions and cost effectiveness. The positive contingent worker experience and responsiveness has promoted a greater level of worker loyalty and productivity.
