Queen’s Birthday public holiday reminderbritain-1296168_1280

The second Monday in June is almost upon us, which means…a public holiday!

It’s the Queen’s Birthday public holiday (in all states except WA). As a result CXC Global will be closed on Monday 13 June 2016.

How will this affect you?

Best that you check with your agency or client to see if timesheet deadlines or pay dates will change because of this public holiday.

Timesheets

If your timesheet(s) are due on Monday 13 June, we suggest you submit your approved timesheets beforehand on Friday 10 June or immediately following the public holidays on Tuesday 14 June, if you don’t hear otherwise.

Pay Transfers

We’ll be reconciling and releasing all funds received prior to the public holiday on Friday 10 June, for overnight release.

Please note: The next date payments will be processed will be Tuesday 14 June. So best you get your timesheets in prior to the public holiday, if possible.

If you have any questions please contact our Contractor Care team on 1300 724 082 or customerservice@cxcglobal.com.au.

So in summary…don’t forget to make arrangements to accommodate your timesheet & pay cycle that could be affected by the Queen’s Birthday closure.

And most importantly, enjoy your day off!

contractor_coinIt pays to be a contractor

When weighing up the pros and cons of contracting versus full-time employment, the theme song to Donald Trump’s The Apprentice, ‘For the Love of Money’, may understandably get stuck on constant repeat in your head.

Well, Randstad’s latest employer branding research may just help tip that scale in favour of contracting, just that little bit further. According to Randstad, Australian full-time workers are being short-changed approximately $71.2 billion in unpaid hours per year.

Freelancing & Freedom – Doing it for the kidsFreedom_kids

There is an old saying ‘business and family don’t mix’. But it seems like that timeworn proverb is no longer a motto to live by. The global upsurge of freelancers in the workforce is heavily driven by people wanting to achieve the exact opposite. The 2016 Freelancer Lifestyle Survey by Toptal found that many people are leaning towards making their family a part of their work day rather than keeping them separate.
