The opportunity
Building a strong workforce for the future means looking beyond immediate hiring needs.
For ADB, developing a sustainable pipeline of emerging IT professionals meant creating stronger connections with graduate talent and building a structured pathway from university into the workplace.
CXC saw an opportunity to support that goal through a dedicated graduate initiative that would combine talent attraction, university engagement, recruitment and onboarding.
The result was the IDIQ Future IT Leaders Graduate Program.
The program was first proposed to CXC in December 2024, with the objective of creating a stronger pipeline of graduate IT talent for ADB.
From there, CXC worked closely with stakeholders to turn the idea into a practical and scalable talent program.
The approach
The first step was alignment.
On 13 January 2025, CXC held an onsite stakeholder meeting to align on the program’s objectives and implementation.
From there, our focus moved to building awareness among students and strengthening relationships with universities.
Rather than relying on a single recruitment campaign, the program used a series of targeted engagement activities to introduce students to ADB, showcase career pathways and create more direct connections with potential candidates.
University of the Philippines Diliman
From 25–28 March 2025, CXC participated in the UP Diliman Job Fair.
Our team:
- Managed booth operations
- Coordinated event logistics
- Promoted graduate career opportunities with ADB through CXC
The event created an early opportunity to build visibility for the program and connect directly with graduate talent.
Western Mindanao State University
On 11 June 2025, CXC hosted IT students from Western Mindanao State University for a university site visit.
We coordinated:
- Program flow
- Student engagement activities
- Catering
- Event logistics
The visit gave students the opportunity to engage more closely with the program and better understand the career opportunities available through ADB and CXC.
Asia Pacific College
On 16 July 2025, CXC delivered the campus event:
“APC Launchpad: Meet ADB on Campus and Explore Global Careers with CXC!”
CXC led the planning and execution of the event, from logistics through to hosting.
The session showcased graduate career pathways and gave students greater visibility into opportunities within the program.
Building momentum
By August 2025, the program had developed from an initial proposal into a growing network of university relationships, campus activities and graduate recruitment outcomes.
At the ADB Summit on 12 August 2025, the Graduate Program was featured as a success story.
The presentation highlighted the journey from the original proposal through to university partnerships and student engagement activity, demonstrating how a structured approach to graduate attraction could help create a stronger future talent pipeline.
The results
The program has delivered tangible hiring outcomes.
To date:
- 6 graduates have been successfully onboarded and are currently contributing to ADB teams
- 1 candidate is pending a start date
- 1 candidate is pending an offer
Importantly, the program has also created a foundation for continued graduate hiring.
CXC has established engagement with:
- University of the Philippines Diliman
- Western Mindanao State University
- Asia Pacific College
These relationships provide ADB and CXC with an ongoing connection to emerging talent and help create a more sustainable pipeline for future IT recruitment.
In August 2026, CXC continued participating in graduate talent attraction and employer-branding initiatives, further strengthening those university partnerships.
The impact
The success of the program demonstrates the value of treating graduate recruitment as a long-term talent strategy rather than simply an entry-level hiring exercise.
By combining university engagement, recruitment activity and candidate support, CXC helped ADB create a clearer pathway between education and employment.
For organisations with complex workforce needs, access to talent, workforce scalability and the ability to build reliable pipelines are important parts of long-term workforce planning.
The program helped address those needs by creating a repeatable approach to identifying, engaging and onboarding emerging IT professionals.
Recognition from ADB
The work was recognised when ADB awarded CXC Philippines Limited Inc. the Graduate Talent Development Award.
The award acknowledges CXC’s contribution to the successful recruitment, onboarding and development of graduate professionals supporting ADB’s future workforce strategy.
For CXC, the recognition reflects both the outcomes achieved and the collaboration behind them.
It is a strong example of what can happen when employers, workforce partners and universities work together around a shared goal: giving emerging talent the opportunity to build meaningful careers while helping organisations strengthen the workforce they’ll need in the future.
