CCWP Certification

Whether you are in HR or Procurement, an MSP, VMS, Staffing provider or manage contingent workforce programs, the Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) course and training program  provided by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), provides recipients with a first of its kind, professionally recognized CCWP accreditation.

Certified Contingent Workforce Professional

Obtaining the certification means you have a recognized status as a top ranking CW program management professional who understands all the aspects of designing, implementing, and managing a successful contingent workforce strategy.  The CCWP training covers from best practices in your CW program to implementing a new program or executing changes to the current program and effectively engaging cost management strategies. You will learn how to measure, analyze, and drive your program performance.

CCWP Training

Prior to CCWP Certification, there was no real set of minimum competency standards in the industry. Those who obtain their certification are able to validate their level of understanding and knowledge related to managing and supporting a contingent workforce. The CCWP program is considered to be a marketplace research-based certification.

“Staffing Industry Analysts’ Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) is an accreditation program in contingent workforce program management best practices. The CCWP Certification assesses and expands the level of expertise of participants to create an elite brand of contingent workforce program management professionals”

Once CCWP Certification is received, it is good for three years. Given that there has been no real minimum standard in the industry, the CCWP training program really stands on its own as a certification program for contingent workforce professionals. At this stage, the program is available in the U.S. and Europe.

Who should do CCWP Training?

With today’s challenges for managers and leadership teams to continue driving employee engagement and retention, the CCWP Certification can benefit organizations by supporting their managers’ career developments through the CCWP Training program.

It’s no secret that the role of a contingent workforce manager isn’t easy and is rarely glamorous. Adding this certification to your name can elevate the level of professionalism and drive employee satisfaction.

In addition, raising your level of competency around the management of the contingent workforce provides you with the tools and known language to present the value of the program. Maximize quality and efficiency, while minimizing the cost and risk. At the end of the day, you’ll run your program better.

The benefits of certification for either a corporate program manager or the MSP staff are rather obvious, but what about your staffing providers? Staffing suppliers don’t have to deal directly with the management of a preferred supplier list nor other stakeholders in your program. But a benefit of them being Certified Contingent Workforce Professionals is that the supplier would speak the same language as you and your MSP, resulting in better communication and a more effective business relationship. Fortunately, staffing providers are also eligible for the certification program and those that have been through the program have used their knowledge to make practical changes to their staffing delivery model. It helps give them a perspective on the criteria that drives their client’s success. The more staffing representatives gain an understanding of the talent acquisition process managed by the program, the more they can adjust their business processes to maximize success while delivering staffing services through a managed program.

The CCWP course

The CCWP training is conducted over a two day period and is broken down into modules.

The modules look at things like:

  • Quality, efficiency, cost and risk and finding the balance between HR and procurement to enable a strategy that supports it.
  • The Contingent Workforce Optimization Roadmap and Program Maturity Model and developing strategies based on that.
  • Reviewing current and desired states of your program, as well as various sourcing models/rate structures to support your program.
  • Contingent workforce program quality and design and ROI drivers for your program.
  • Discussion about the different types of workers, classifications and FSLA requirement and the associated risks and how they can be managed, as well as contingent workforce statutory costs, gross margin and markup.
  • Program implementation and all the various parts involved to achieve program adoption.
  • Analysis of data based on quality and efficiency to identify and implement changes
  • Supplier performance management to achieve better results; including supplier scorecards and reviews.
  • Contingent workforce contracts;  their relationship to the business  and the risk component
  • Actions to take based on the course learnings

CCWP Summary

The certification program provides a set of industry recommended tools to standardize best practices, utilize a common language, and outlines a road map for continuous improvement across your program.
