Minimum wage increase (2025)
As of 1 January 2025, the minimum monthly wage in Bulgaria has increased to BGN 1,077, reflecting a 15.4% rise from the 2024 minimum wage of BGN 933.
Implementation of the electronic employment register (June 2025)
By 1 June 2025, Bulgaria will transition from traditional employee workbooks to an electronic employment register maintained by the National Revenue Agency. This initiative aims to modernize employment records and improve data accessibility.
Amendments to Social Security Contributions (2025)
The Bulgarian government has introduced modifications to social security contribution rates effective in 2025. These amendments include an increase in employer contributions for pension and health insurance, aimed at strengthening the sustainability of the social security system.
